Admission Guidelines

1. Foreign/International Students:

Pacific Foreign/International Student Cell is the single window for all Foreign/International students, who wish to apply at Pacific University for different diploma / undergraduate / post graduate / research courses.

2. Categories of Foreign/International Students:

 

  • Foreign/International Students:- Students holding the passport issued by foreign countries including People of Indian origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) who have acquired the nationality of foreign countries are classified as foreign students.
  • Non-Resident Indians (NRI):- A NRI student is an Indian citizen and who has an NRI status. Students who have studied their qualifying examination (equivalent to the 10+2 of India) from schools or colleges abroad (outside India) will be considered as NRI student.
  • NRI sponsored student:- A NRI sponsored student is an Indian citizen whose direct blood relative i.e. Parents, Parents' direct Brother/Sister or Candidates' direct Brother/Sister is a Non-Resident India. Foreign students, PIO Card Holders, OCI and NRI students (including sponsored by the parents) get preference over NRI sponsored category.

 

3. Filling the admission form:

  • Candidates can apply online to any of the Programmes offered by Pacific University.
  • Follow the general instruction to fill up the admission form.
  • Fill up the admission form carefully without missing any detail.
  • Attach / upload a recent passport size photo with light background, signature and last qualifying exam certificate in .jpeg format with image size less than 50kb.
  • Submit the admission, take a print out and make a not of aplication reference number.

4. Documents to be attached / uploaded with the admission form:

The following documents are required along with the admission form:

  • NRI sponsored student:-
    • Foreign/International students who have appeared for Grade 12th examination from an Indian Board or have passed their last qualifying examination from Indian University are required to attach / upload their last qualifying certificate.
    • Foreign/International student with Foreign/International qualification are required to obtain and submit an equivalent certificate from Association of Indian University with admission form.

  • Certified (English translated) copy of the marks / grade sheet of the qualifying examination.
  • Recent Passport size photographs.
    * Student Visa is a mandatory document for all Foreign/International students travelling to India for studies.

5. Submission of admission form:

6. Provisional admission:

  • Only those applicants who fulfil the eligibility requirements are issued a provisional admission letter by Pacific Foreign/International Student Cell, by end of May .
  • The copy of provisional admission letter will be sent to the following:
    • The applicant’s Embassy in New Delhi.
    • Indian High Commission in applicant’s Home country.
    • A scanned copy to the applicant’s email address.
  • Therefore, applicants are advised to write their email addresses and other details clearly on the admission forms.
  • All Foreign/International students should report to the Pacific Foreign/International Student Cell (PISC) by the date mentioned on provisional admission letter. In case, they fail to do so without any prior information their application will be cancelled.The candidates can apply for an extension by a formal request email sent to PISC at pisc_admissions@pacific-university.ac.in and pisc_info@pacific-university.ac.in on or before the reporting date.

Candidates shall use the provisional admission letter for obtaining the VISA and other related matter viz. ticketing, insurance etc.

7. Fees:

The tuition, hostel/ accommodation and other fees are to be paid in equivalent US Dollars by electronic transfer within 10 days from the date of receipt of the provisional admission mail. The University is not responsible for non delivery of the e-mail for any reasons what-so-ever, the bank details for wire transfer are:

8. Intimation of fee payment:

Immediately after completing the wire transfer, Students are required to fill up the "Information on Electronic Fund Transfer & Details" form and send it to: pisc_admissions@pacific-university.ac.in and pisc_info@pacific-university.ac.in

9. Visa:

Foreign/International students who secure admission to any course in Pacific University should obtain a valid visa and bring/send all original documents to complete the registration process, without a visa no admission shall be granted.
The Visa must be endorsed to Pacific University, no other endorsement will be acceptable.

  • Student Visa : Student Visa is required to join Undergraduate Programme, Post-Graduate Programme, Certificate or Diploma courses in Pacific University.
  • Research Visa : Research Visa is required to join PhD Programme in Pacific University.

 

10. Admission confirmation & Registration:

The admission confirmation letter will be handed over to student sent via an email, of all documents and remittance of first year tuition fee.

Students are advised to reach Pacific University at least 2-3 days prior to the commencement of classes and report to the Office of the Pacific Foreign/International Student Cell to complete the admission formalities.

The following documents in original are to be submitted at the time of registration:

  • Certificates of educational qualifications 10thStd / 12thStd / Degree Certificate (as applicable to specific courses).
  • English Translated versions of all documents.
  • Equivalence / eligibility certificate from Association of Indian Universities (As applicable for Foreign/International student qualification)
  • Passport with a valid student visa / research visa. (as applicable)
  • Duly filled and signed declaration forms - Parent (Form Al), Student (Form A2).
  • Recent Passport-size photographs - 5 Nos.
  • No Objection certificate (as applicable for post graduate and research students).
  • NRI status certificate of father/mother.
  • Employers certificate of parent sponsoring the student.
  • Medical fitness certificate.
  • Undertaking: countersigned by Parent/Guardian.
  • Pacific University entrance exam hall ticket (where applicable).
  • Demand Drafts (as applicable).
  • Document showing financial status & viability

11. Admission Formalities:

Foreign/International Students are required to report at Pacific Foreign/International Student Cell within the prescribed date mentioned in Provisional admission letter. He / She undergoes following formalities at PISC:

  • Filling of arrival form at PISC.
  • Verification of documents required fo registration by PISC staff.
  • PISC confirms admission and provide admission confirmation letter with name of college & department.
  • Students report at the informed college / department / faculty and finish all admission formalities.

12. Transfer & Change of Course:

Students are allowed to change the course and college of study upon their arrival at PISC.

13. Hostel Accommodation:

Pacific University has male / female hostel for both national and international students one male hostel for both National and Foreign/International Students and one female hostel for both National and Foreign/International Students.

14. Government of India Scholarship:

Foreign/International students get scholarship when they come to study in India by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The interested students can directly apply for this scholarship and may contact Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) for detailed information on address given below:

15. Medical Insurance:

Foreign/International Students are advised to come to India with medical Insurance, having evacuation clause, before joining the University.

NOTE: All students seeking admission to Pacific University are strongly advised not to use the services of third party/ agents/ admission service firms.

Pacific University has not authorized any agency/ individual/ agent to act on its behalf and/or to charge any fee from prospective students. Applications/ inquiries received through middlemen/ third party will not be entertained and will be categorically rejected.
